A Foundation for a Religious Model
In
this essay I define a foundation for a religious model of creation, by
establishing that God used eternal laws and eternal elements, both spiritual and
physical, in creating the universe. In doing this, I draw on information given
in the books accepted as scripture by Latter-day Saints. The resulting
foundation consists of three laws of creation and God's use of those laws. These
laws allow us to draw parallels between the creation that is studied by
scientists and the creation that is described in scripture. These parallels do
not prove that the religious viewpoint I have proposed is true. The parallels
do, however, suggest that there might be threads of truth that are common to
both viewpoints. |
